Forged in bleak January 2005, handpicking the cream of metal talent from around the Midlands, it was but a few months before Rue the Day had penned a scintillating set, cut their first single and were embarking on a string of dates across the UK.

At that point still performing under their original moniker From the Ashes, the fiery 5-piece brought their frenetic brand of passionate, powerful melodic metal to ever increasing crowds at the likes of the Oxford Zodiac, The Underground Student Union in Birmingham, Coventry Colosseum and the Camden Purple Turtle.

And it was not long before the rave reviews and rapturous shows attracted some keen interest. Catching the eye of Casket Records, they signed a one album deal and will be releasing a 11 track epic in early 2007 recorded in Philia Studios (Stamping Ground, Panic Cell and Earthtone 9).

Already penned in as one to watch on the itunes website, signed up to pen the soundtrack for big budget film Hotel Caledonia (starring Kris Marshall/Jemima Rooper), included on the soundtrack of the latest Brainchild extreme sports DVD and set to embark on a comprehensive UK tour to accompany the album release… Look out for Rue The Day….
